USP: 045 | Good Communication - What Works and What Doesn’t

#045 - Jean Hamilton-Fford explains what works and what doesn't work in practical and good communication. Jean shares that self-awareness is one of the most essential elements of being a good communicator, but what about the biggest challenge?

As Jean reflects on her early years, she explains what the rat race disables people to do, why people hang on to short and sweet things, and why communication can prove to be a challenge of vulnerability and honesty.

IN THIS EPISODE YOU WILL LEARN:

·         We always work at the expense of something

·         The rat race is a trap where you're not encouraged to think

·         People communicate what they think others want to hear

·         Good communicators know themselves well

·         Everything hinges on relationships

I believe in possibilities. That's me, in a nutshell. I have baffled doctors and most everyone I know as I continue to forge ahead regardless of what others perceive as my limitations. I am blessed with CMT (Charcot Marie Tooth disease), a degenerative, genetic disease that slowly takes away the use of my hands and my feet. I refuse to believe that I have to progress at the pace most others do and refuse to be hindered by the idea of not being able to use my hands and feet. I still type with my hands and walk on my feet, though my doctors have no idea how I am able to manage it.

I still have hopes and dreams to fill and am working toward that end. I still believe that I can succeed and thrive, even if others write me off. I am here to share with others my insatiable desire to rise above and transcend whatever is put before me. There is so much more to come and I'm just getting started. I am an author, educator, artist, and VO and I love my life!
